Dressed herring

Ingredients

Onion
1 piece
Beet
300 grams
Carrot
150 grams
Potatoes
300 grams
Atlantic herring
300 grams
Mayonnaise
250 grams

Directions

  1. Boil potatoes, beetroots and carrots in their skins ( 3 pieces of each vegetable), cool and peel.
  2. Boil the eggs, cool and peel.
  3. Chop the herring fillet finely and form a first layer on the bottom of the dish.
  4. Grate onions on top of the herring ( ue a big grater) and spread mayonnaise on to the layer.
  5. Grate potatoes, then carrots and eggs to form the next layers.
  6. Grate beetroot on top and season with mayonnaise.

Author's comment

Dressed herring is the salad, which has to be let stand, otherwise, the ingredients keep their too strong taste.
